heello all. :)
yesterday marked the official end to my prelims. mann, that's such a good feeling! haha.
shan't shan't shan't talk about how my prelims went. instead, i'm wondering what to do for the next five days. aha. i already spent my entire morning cleaning the house. and so now i'm bored. :/ there's only so much reading i can do.. hah.
i've decided to give myself a break cuz i think it's scary the way my mind hasn't rested in days. i've been having problems sleeping at night cuz there's just so many things going thru my head! a song, what i did today, how the paper went, blah. it's like my head's buzzing and it's really exhausting. :(
oh well. i watched NGC yesterday and mann was it fascinating! it was a documentary showing how geologists managed to determieg how the features and landforms surrounding the Columbia River in Washington came about. the place looked so familiar and i'm very sure we were given a picture in geog that looked very much like this. yeah. i thought the features were the result of changing sea levels but i guess i was wrong. :/ wasn't way off though!
it was the result of the explosion of an ice dam 15,000 years ago during the ice age! haha. the ice caps moved southwards from Canada and retreated to some river valley 250 miles away from Columbia River. but because the glacier was so huge, it dammed the river valley and there was like so much water behind the glacier that collected over the years. when finally the dam broke cuz of pressure and supercooled water and stuff like that, it just created this whole torrent of water that was like a tsunami x10000. uuurgh. over a trillion cubic metre of water or sth. and it carved out the Columbia valley/canyon 250 miles away overnight!
cool huh? i was so amazed. :))
okay, yeah. and so i've been thinking about that the entire morning. now for my lunch.
everyone enjoy their day ahead! :)
